Seven habits that protect your digital accounts

Accounts are rarely lost to anything clever. They are lost to a reused password, a code read aloud, or a link opened in a hurry.
1. A different password for every account. One leak elsewhere should not reach your store account.
2. Turn on two-step verification wherever it is offered.
3. Never share a sign-in code. No one from any store will ask you for one — we never will.
4. Check the address before you type anything, especially from a link in a message.
5. Sign out of devices you no longer use, including a television you have sold.
6. Keep the purchase email. It is the fastest way for support to find your order.
7. Change the password of an account you were given as soon as it is delivered, where the product allows it.
